Still loving flower crowns? I hope so, because I still am! I  love them big and full for the bride who wants a statement piece. Or, small and delicate for a more understated natural look.

Sea Cider Wedding - Victoria, BC

I'm happy to share some beautiful photos taken by Kim Kalyn Photography from a wedding last September. This beautiful couple was married at the Sea Cider Farm & Ciderhouse.

What I loved about this wedding was that 90% of the flowers were local and organic. The only flowers we special ordered were the white hydrangeas and the blush "Juliet" garden roses. I particularly loved the chartreuse green zinnias in the bridesmaids bouquets!

 

Herb Wedding

This past August I had a really fun request from a bride who was getting married at the beautiful Sea Cider Farm. She wanted an all herb wedding. Everything was to be herbs, including her bouquet! I was very excited to do something different and even more excited to source everything from local gardens. A herbal wedding is such a "green" concept. Everything can be grown in your garden or neighbour's garden, and after the wedding day you can dry some of the herbs for a keep sake or throw the rest in a batch of stock! The timing for this wedding was perfect to be able to catch a few herbs in late summer bloom.

A Classy Pink and Pearls Wedding in Victoria, BC

I am very excited to share some beautiful photos of a February wedding that took place here in Victoria. If you choose to get married in Victoria in February, chances are you will need an indoor ceremony and reception venue due to the likely hood of rain. But, for this lucky couple they had nothing but blue skies, sunshine and not a single drop of rain for their wedding day!

Nikki and Logan chose to be married inside the St. Ann's Academy chapel with it's beautiful gold and soft blue ceiling, which I must admit I just love to see in pictures! One of the first things Nikki and her mother gave me at our initial meeting was the invitation which they had made back in Canmore, Nikki's hometown. The color palette started with this item.

A palette of soft pinks, cream, white and gold created such a sophisticated feeling for this wedding. And especially with all the pearl accents, from the beautiful jewellery she wore, to the details at the reception, it was all just simply classy!

The reception was held in the Vancouver Island Ballroom at the Grand Pacific Hotel. We decided to go with two different centerpieces on the tables. One being, a trio of three vases filled with tulips, pink alstroemeria, hydrangea and baby's breath. And the other a "twisted tulip bowl".

 The head table had hydrangea and baby's breath arrangements on them. Once the reception started the bridesmaids could then place their flowers in the bouquet holders supplied by the decor company which hung on the front of the table. Double duty, do it when you can!

Calla lily bouquet

Calla lilies are a modern, sleek and sophisticated choice for a wedding. They are a very tough flower and can withstand many hours without water. They come in various shades of purple, mango, yellow and white. The bouquets below have a variegated lily grass added to the callas.

 

Summer Bouquet - Tea spray roses

 I have had brides request no roses. I think quite often brides associate roses with tradition and formality and some brides just don't want that. These roses have a nice casual, informal feeling to them because of the uneven nature of the bouquet. Perfect for a garden wedding. This sweet little tea rose bouquet is actually mixed with another lovely flower called godetia.

Lady's mantle, camellia and hydrangea leaves are a few of the greens used to add texture.

Blush Bridal Boutique

Wedding season is in the air.......

 Blush Bridal Boutique has so many lovely and beautiful things you can't help wanting to get married all over again just to get another dress!

Not only do they sell dresses but some other really cute items too. Like these canvas bags that say "LOVE". What a sweet gift for bridesmaids, or I'm even thinking the kids for Valentine's!

Apparently the owners are quite the crafty ladies. Many of the items you see such as the flower hair pins, heart cards and ring bearer pillows were lovingly made by them.

Also hand made by the owners, these pretty garters...... there was a whole bucket of them to choose from! This one caught my eye.

The owners of this store have done such a great job making their space sparkle. I loved all the decor, down the the typewriter which held their business cards.
